Operations Manager

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the technical operations, providing direction, guidance, and mentorship to team members to ensure their professional growth and development.
  • Oversee the planning, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure and systems, including servers, networking equipment, storage devices, and cloud services.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design solutions, and implement technical projects and initiatives that support the organization s strategic objectives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and service level agreements (SLAs) to track the performance and health of IT systems and infrastructure, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to IT operations, security, and data privacy.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the resilience and integrity of critical IT systems and services.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and process improvement to enhance efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of technical operations.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for IT products and services, including procurement, negotiation, and vendor performance management.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex issues and incidents, and collaborate with team members to resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in IT operations, and recommend and implement innovative solutions to address business needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technology solutions to improve operational efficiency and support strategic goals.
Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in technical operations management, with a track record of leading teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions and services.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, networking, and cloud computing.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL framework and practices for IT service management, incident management, change management, and problem management.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools, and ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards related to IT operations and data privacy.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL Foundation, PMP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator are a plus
Education:
  • Bachelors or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
